Welcome to the Genoa-Kingston Curriculum Councils Blog. This blog will provide information regarding the activities of the District Currriculum Council Committees that research, evaluate, and recommend to the Superintendent curriculum changes. The Superintendent evaluates those changes and makes recommendations to the Board of Education. Upon Board approval, teachers are trained and students are provided with new learning experiences.
This change cycle usually takes 3-5 years to accomplish. New materials used in new curriculums are placed "on display" by the Board of Education for 30 days for public comment prior to any vote for approval. All new materials are always placed in the Community Room at GK High School for public viewing.
