October 25, 2011 -- MINUTES
The Science Committee met to discuss our current K- 8 Science Curriculum. The committee opted to postpone future curriculum purchases until the Common Core Standards for Science are adopted. The Standards are due in the fall of 2012. The committee will meet again in April, 2012 to initiate a review of the Middle School’s CPO Science programNovember 23, 2010
During our November meeting, the committee discussed possible curriculum implementation scenarios given our current budget situation. The piloting of the Foss program will begin second semester and will conclude with a possible board recommendation in April. Sandy Arndt who is currently piloting 5th grade materials gave a brief review of her experience so far.
The next council meeting will be January 25, 2011

During the October meeting, the Science Committee reviewed the proposed Foss K-5 science sequence. Possible changes to the sequence were discussed.
